Aftab is registered with the Guild of Dog Trainers and the proud owner of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Rafa Nadal and Ragnar Lothbrook. Aftab is a retired corporate lawyer and has lived in Waltham St. Lawrence with his family since 2000.
Qualifications and experience
Aftab Ahmed was originally trained by Ross McCarthy MA FCFBA MBIPDT MGoDT AMBPSCA at the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training, and has been modifying troublesome dog behaviours since 1998. From little Chihuahuas to large Leonbergers, Aftab has dealt with virtually all unwanted behaviours exhibited by our canine friends and has particular expertise in rehabilitating rescue dogs.
As a member of the International School for Canine Psychology & Behaviour and a member of the International Companion Animal Network, Aftab believes in treating all clients and their dogs with respect, compassion and understanding.
Aftab guarantees that in the event of the programmes prescribed failing to make the behavioural problem at the very least manageable, subject to the client having followed the advice as given, the fee is fully refundable.
Teaching owners how to modify their dog’s behaviour using reward based techniques
In addition to dealing with troublesome dog behaviours across the UK and Europe, Aftab also delivers seminars at private functions to cover a variety of topics including causes of behavioural problems, understanding a dog’s mind, and up to date training methods and strategies for behaviour modification. Aftab also specialises in helping committed dog owners from the get-go, to train their puppies on a 121 basis and ensure they mature into well behaved and balanced companions.
